Overview of the Department:

The Department of General Surgery is a surgical specialty that focuses on abdominal contents including esophagus, stomach, small bowel, colon, liver, pancreas, gallbladder and bile ducts, and often the thyroid gland. Also deal with diseases involving the skin, breast, soft tissue, and hernias. All minor and major general surgical procedures and emergency surgeries are carried out including endoscopy and laparoscopic procedures.

Facilities:

The Department of General Surgery is situated on the 1st floor of the OPD block of the hospital. There are examination rooms to examine each patient separately and for dressing. Minor Operation Theatre facility for undergoing minor surgical procedures and day care procedures on outpatient basis is available. Three OT available for major surgeries with state of the art instruments and advanced technology inherited. The endoscopy unit is well equipped with latest equipment to deal with basic therapeutic and palliative treatment for the needy. The Department deals with emergency surgeries round the clock.
